Cutting is delivered as an integrated service with containerised topside spreads, purpose-built subsea tooling, and proven offshore procedures. Cutting scopes can be combined with access dredging/excavation and surface preparation to enable an end-to-end execution model.
The primary method is abrasive water jet cutting (AWJC), a cold-cutting process capable of cutting steel, grout, concrete, and composites using pressurised water mixed with abrasive media. Scanmudring’s suspension-based AWJC technology is developed for stable abrasive delivery and predictable offshore performance; diamond wire saw cutting can be applied for selected geometries where a mechanical cutting method is preferred.
Scanmudring has operated abrasive cutting systems for more than two decades across oil & gas, offshore wind, decommissioning, and other complex subsea constructions. The tool portfolio is continuously developed and is often delivered as part of combined campaigns with access dredging and surface preparation.
