Scanmudring’s Soil Plug Removal Tools are developed forcontrolled internal excavation across pile diameters from 620 mm to more than 5m. Each system is configured to the pile geometry, soil conditions, removaldepth, and project requirements to support efficient plug breakup, extraction,and internal preparation.

For loose and sandy materials, removal methods includetool-integrated pumps, standalone subsea suction units, airlift systems, andhigh-pressure water jetting.

For cohesive or compacted soils—including clay, chalk,hardpan, and packed sand—mechanical cutters break up the plug before thematerial is removed by suction. This combined cutting-and-extraction approachsupports predictable removal rates in large-diameter piles and demandingoffshore renewable and decommissioning scopes.
